  • Portability. This is important especially if using public transport, when using elevators, or simply storing in the office during the day. The size and weight will come into this as well if you need to lug your scooter or foldable bike around when you commute.
  • Size. The physical size is important, especially storage space in an apartment. How do you maneuver around high pedestrian areas
  • Range. How far do you intend to travel on a daily basis. Most devices these days will have a minimum of 10 miles, with some higher end devices having 30 miles or possibly more
  • Wheel size. If you are mainly going to commute on smooth, generally sealed surfaces then the wheel size is not so important. However, if you are looking at rougher terrain and uneven tracks, then wheel size is important, essentially the larger the better, also considering the other points listed here
  • Safety. An electric skateboard or hoverboard is not going to be as safe as a battery powered scooter, which in turn will not as safe as an eBike with handlebars, seat and front forks
